The original instruction manual followed a conventional structure: plain diagrams, minimal visual hierarchy, and dense labeling. For a young audience, this created a barrier to understanding and made the setup process dull or overly reliant on adult help.

Redesign Motivation

There was a clear gap between the imaginative identity of the toy and the dry, utilitarian manual that accompanied it. This redesign was driven by the desire to bridge that gap—by transforming the manual into a playful, engaging extension of the toy itself. Through storytelling, visual cues, and a more child-friendly layout, the manual encourages users to dive in and enjoy every step of the experience.

This concept project explores how instruction manuals can go beyond rigid grid-based designs and become part of the user’s interaction with the product. By drawing inspiration from the toy’s adventurous and futuristic theme, the manual was reimagined as a playful, narrative-guided experience. The goal was to create a setup process that encourages curiosity, visual engagement, and hands-on exploration—especially for young users.
